Since our founding in 1955, Suzumo Machinery has been dedicated to the research and development of unique food processing machines. Our history began with the manufacturing of confectionery machines of the Monaka (bean-jam-filled wafers) sweet bean paste filling machines.

Later, in the 1970s, Japan implemented a policy of reducing rice acreage to control rice production and prices. Confronted with this challenge, our founder was deeply committed to finding ways to increase the consumption of rice, the staple food of Japan. After five years of persistent development, we achieved a groundbreaking milestone in 1981: the creation of the world’s first sushi robot.
At that time, sushi was considered a luxury, a "special treat" reserved only for "celebratory occasions." However, we transformed sushi into a part of casual dining culture, realizing the vision of making sushi available to "anytime, anywhere, anyone—affordably and deliciously."
This achievement marked a turning point, leading our company to focus on the development and manufacturing of innovative food processing machines centered around rice.

We take immense pride in being the leading company that pioneered the popularization of sushi, contributing significantly to food culture.

Continuing this tradition of innovation, we have consistently developed products that meet the ever-diversifying needs of consumers and the food service industry and have always provided customers with products in tune with the times, such as “Fuwarica,” which serves fluffy rice in measured portions.

In recent years, the environment surrounding our business has undergone significant changes.
Despite these challenges, we remain steadfast in our mission to quickly and effectively meet the demands for automation and labor-saving solutions, in line with the specific needs of the conveyor-belt sushi, food service, and prepared food industries.

Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic has spurred a growing interest in healthy lifestyles and Japanese cuisine. This trend has led to a renewed appreciation for rice, with demand steadily increasing worldwide.
To address this, we are strengthening and diversifying our product lineup to meet the standards of each region in Europe and the Americas while actively expanding localized sales activities in countries around the world.

As the Suzumo Group, we are working together as one to expand our revenue and ensure the steady progression of our growth path. We remain committed to developing labor-saving machinery with a customer-centric approach, accelerating our business expansion with speed, and continuing to forge ahead as a value-creating company. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and look forward to your even greater encouragement and guidance.
